Just checked out the city’s development application site and learned some news. One local development application is on hold, and I discovered a new one.

Tamarack’s plans for a six-storey mixed use building are now on hold. Not sure if it’s the tough economic times … Either way Istanbouli is moving out.

Then I discovered a new development application on Holland. It’s the lot behind the veggie restaurant, where Tartan tried to sell enough condos to build. They couldn’t and now the former typewriter place that was their sales office is an eco-decor retail place.

I wonder if the new owners — Domicile — will have more luck? Check out the preliminary drawings of their proposed 8-storey building. People who don’t like Domicile’s usual pale creamy buildings will be happy to see some colour. But I’m sure they’ll be unhappy with the height.

And the lot where Pro-shine is currently located is still for sale for a cool $1,690,000.00. According to the MLS listing it can be used for a hotel or apartment dwelling (low and mid-rise). Right … a hotel in ourneighbourhood?
