Well Merry almost Christmas. It doesn’t look good for a settlement in the bus strike. Talks broke off today, and both sides seem to be determined to save face.

Hard to believe it’s been two weeks already. The first part seemed the worst, while transit users found other ways to get to work and organized car pools. It seems now that all that organization may need to be re-done as people start to take time off over the holidays.

So  this past week we had a team lunch at work. It was supposed to have been in our neighbourhood, but with the bus strike that didn’t happen. Actually it almost didn’t happen at all. My boss had it in his calendar, and I was supposed to have organized it. I hadn’t, but quickly sent round an e-mail seeking ideas. The  trail started on Tuesday for lunch on Thursday. I’m continuing the trek over the bridge to the parc-o-bus, then taking the STO bus to Place du Portage, then walking downtown. Today’s walk was a bit faster, likely because of less snow. Read the rest of this entry »
