We went back to the Old Mill at Ashton today, this time for lunch. We also met up with a friend of mine, Julie, about halfway there. Her husband acted as the support vehicle. Julie has a more upright bike that’s quite a bit heavier than ours, so we rode slowly along the TransCanada trail, yacking about the renovation and work.
On the last kilometre or so, Errol saw us on Ashton Station Road and pulled over. I decided to sprint from there to make sure he spotted the pub. Ashton is quite small, but you can miss it if you blink. Sure enough, he wasn’t in the parking lot. So I stood at the crossroads and waited for him to come back. Read the rest of this entry »
The last time we saw the Canadian David Wilcox was on our 10th anniversary. He played in the rain (yet again) at the Ottawa Ex. It was just before he released his latest CD, and we got to hear some of the new tracks. He totally rocks. People turned out last year in the rain, and this year it looked like the rain was going to turn up again. Read the rest of this entry »
