Happy Canada Day
Forgot to post our Canada Day experiences because of my fall over on the bike. On Tuesday Brenda and I went to Britannia Beach for a swim. Nice cycle ride out there and the beach wasn’t too crowded. It’s nice having three or four beaches within an easy cycle ride and others in the Gatineau Park a bit farther away, but well worth the ride because you don’t have to pay for parking. Well yesterday was almost the fourth time I was hit by a car riding my bike, and I don’t mean that someone cut me off. That happens all the time. No, yesterday it was completely my fault and a bit of bad luck (my shoe clipped into my pedal going up a hill).
The hill I’m referring to is the steep grade coming out of the parking garage at work. The first time I cycled in I walked the bike up, but now that I’m more used to the hill, I usually ride up. Yesterday Isabelle and I were leaving at the same time, but she walks her bike up the hill.
